Amorphous Material - VITROVAC
VITROVAC® alloys are magnetically soft but mechanically hard, with a high elastic limit. Properties comprise highest saturation flux density and excellent permeability, making it the ideal solution for applications like electronic article surveillance, flexible antennae, magnetic sensors, magnetic shielding, switching cores in accelerators or power transformers.

Various Grades of VITROVAC
VAC offers two alloy groups, defined by their magnetostriction constant: Fe-based and Co-based amorphous alloys.
VITROVAC 6155 U55
- Co-based amorphous alloy with highest saturation flux density BS = 1.0 T and vanishing saturation magnetostriction λs ≈ 0 ppm
- Applications: preferred use with rectangular ‘Z’ hysteresis loop in pulse compression applications, or with flat ‘F’ hysteresis loop in flexible antennae, e.g. keyless entry systems, power and current transformers
VITROVAC 7600 T70
- Fe-based amorphous alloy with highest saturation flux density BS = 1.74 T and high saturation magnetostriction λs ≈ 47 ppm
- Applications: magnetic switching cores (rectangular ‘Z’ hysteresis loop) for pulse compression circuits, e.g. laser power supplies or acceleration
VITROVAC 6006 A10
- Co-based amorphous alloy with low saturation flux density BS = 0.4 T and vanishing saturation magnetostriction λs ≈ 0 ppm
- Applications: magnetic sensors with short length of sensor strip, e.g. electronic article surveillance (EAS) applications
VITROVAC 6025 G40
- Co-based amorphous alloy with highest magnetic permeability, lowest coercivity and vanishing saturation magnetostriction λs ≈ 0 ppm
- Applications: preferred use with rectangular ‘Z’ hysteresis loop in current tranformers, common mode chockes (CMC’s), MagAmps, spike blockers, magnetic field sensors and current sensors
VITROVAC 6025 I50
- Co-based amorphous alloy with highest magnetic permeability, lowest coercivity and vanishing saturation magnetostriction λs ≈ 0 ppm
- Applications: preferred use with round ‘R’ or ‘X’ hysteresis loop in magnetic shielding, e.g. cable shielding, or with flat ‘F’ hysteresis loop in magnetic sensors applications
VITROVAC 6030 D30
- Co-based amorphous alloy with medium saturation flux density BS = 0.8 T and vanishing saturation magnetostriction λs ≈ 0 ppm
- Applications: preferred use with rectangular ‘Z’ hysteresis loop in pulse compression applications, or with flat ‘F’ hysteresis loop in power transformers in the kHz range, unipolar pulse and current transformers
